1. Keep the roster explicit
Start with the people who are actually expected to play. Use display names for the schedule, then use email invitations only for the members who should access that season.
2. Choose a repeatable session shape
Pick the number of courts and rounds before the first week. A consistent shape makes it easier to compare weeks and explain a rest list when the roster is not divisible by four.
3. Publish before play
Review the draft, publish it to members, and keep last-minute changes visible. Record one final score per match; cancel a match with a reason when play cannot finish.
4. Close the week deliberately
Close only after every match is scored or cancelled. The season summary should use closed weeks, while a live published week can remain provisional.
5. Start the next week from the same source of truth
After closing, generate the next draft from the season roster. The organizer can keep the season private while members see only the weeks that have been published.
